Artists for Peace and Justice

Artists for Peace and Justice, established in early 2009, is a fundraising effort
founded by Paul Haggis and friends that encourages peace and social justice
and addresses issues of poverty and enfranchisement in communities around
the world. The organization’s immediate goal is to build schools to serve
the poorest areas of Haiti, providing an education, hot meals, clean drinking
water and regular medical treatments to the children living in the slums.

Ciné Institute
In 2006, filmmaker David Belle founded Ciné Institute, Haiti’s only professional
film school. Located in the coastal town of Jacmel, Haiti’s cultural capital,
the Institute is dedicated to providing Haitian youth with film education and
edutainment, technical and production training, and media related micro enterprise
opportunities. Students and graduates benefit directly from short and long term
audiovisual employment opportunities through Ciné Services, the job creation
division of the Institute. Every audio-visual related media opportunity is considered
and supported. For further information visit www.cineinstitute.com.
